Plasmids Я Us

Rosie

I’ve spent much of the last two days playing a game that most Xbox fanboys tore through many moons ago, namely Bioshock. I can’t believe it took me this long to get around to it, frankly. I totally expected it to be good. I just didn’t expect it to be this good.

Alone in the Dark

I never played the original Alone in the Dark game, but I’ve certainly read how much it’s revered among the gaming geeks of the world. And as much as they revere that game, they detest the sequels. Well, I don’t know a thing about the games, but I’d lay good odds that this game will not disappoint the fans of the original. Creepy, atmospheric and exciting, this trailer is everything I want to see in a video game. I may have to wait a long time for Silent Hill’s next outing, but this baby looks even better and I only have to wait until May to buy it. I can’t wait.

Xbox Magic

Magic: The Gathering, one of the greatest nerd-games ever, is coming to Xbox Live Arcade. For reasons that I need not go into, this makes me harder than a teenage boy watching a naked oil-wrestling match in the girl’s locker room. So far, Wizards of the Coast hasn’t announced anything solid beyond that, which means we’ll have to wait a while for more news. I don’t know about you, but I know how I’m spending that time; Playing my 1998 Microprose MTG game for Windows.

And, for the record, I know full well how much of a nerd I am. Big deal. At least I’ve got my good looks.

Time Smasher!

Poker Smash
After a couple years of mediocre-to-decent titles, I have met the xbox live arcade game of my dreams. She’s flashy and addictive, and her name is Poker Smash. I could literally play this game for hours. Combining the best features of the SNES hit Tetris Attack and the best parts of poker, Poker Smash is a near perfect puzzle game. Heck, I’m so broke I can only play the demo, but that hasn’t stopped me from logging hours upon hours playing it. Sure, I can’t record my scores, and I’m limited to playing in 5 minute bursts, but the game is THAT good. If you’ve got an Xbox, get your rear to the arcade marketplace and download this game. Play it, love it, live it. You won’t be sorry.
