Usually, the results are half-assed at best. Even worse, sometimes I have to do this shit for my worthless tenant. So to me, DIY = torture. BTW, if there is a DIY craze, it's probably because nobody can afford to have shit done for them. *"Handyman": a deadbeat, alcoholic loser who can't hold down a real job with a contractor/subcontractor. There are "green" things a person can do which will be a lot more effective than soldering your own electrical equipment. I remember the time I decided to sew my own grocery bags to cut back on plastic consumption. I spent nearly a week sewing ONE and it ended up pretty crappy. Then I saw I could buy some from target for $.99/ea and was like "fuck this shit."
