I’m not sure how to react to this article, in which a man spent weeks constructing a Guillotine in his garage, for the sole purpose of committing suicide. Which he did.
There are millions of ways to off yourself. But I’ve never heard of anything quite so imaginative. So..do I applaud the man’s dedication and workmanship? I mean, making a working Guillotine can not be easy. Plus, he was so dedicated to kill himself that he waited until the death machine was completed before completing the act.
Was he a history buff? Did he just want to prove a point to his loved ones? Not that I can imagine what message decapitating yourself with a historical device would be, but who knows…
In any case, I feel for anyone who is at the point where they feel the need to commit suicide. I can empathize with the feelings that lead you there. Being clinically depressed for the last three years will give you a little perspective. But still….. A fucking Guillotine, man….Genius.
