Indiana Jones and the Interlocking Brick of Destiny

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Legos
Holy shit. I was not at all prepared to like Lego Indiana Jones as much as I did. I thought it would be okay, but nothing special. Man, was I wrong. This game is about as fun as it gets.

You play a lego version of Indy in a world where all the scenery, vehicles and enemies are made of Legos. You can smash pretty much everything you see into its respective lego pieces, which is pretty fucking fun. Who doesn’t like smashing stuff? But you don’t just smash Legos apart. You can build Lego vehicles, bridges and other objects too.

The games is split into three parts, each one based on one of the Indiana Jones movies. As you go, you re-enact your favorite scenes like running from a giant boulder, riding a speeding mine-cart and carjacking Nazi trucks.

As fun as it is playing the game on your own, it’s far more fun playing with a friend. One player is Indy and the other is one of an endless line of sidekicks. Like Short-Round and Connery Jones or whatever the hell his name is. A lot of the game has objectives you can’t do by yourself. It requires teamwork to make it through the game. Of course, if you play it solo, you can still make it through, you just have to switch back and forth between characters. Not nearly as fun playing with a friend.

Overall, I’d give this sucker an A-. If you want to try the game before you buy or rent it, you can download a demo in the XBOX360 Marketplace. The demo is an entire level from the game set in the opening scene of Raiders of the Lost Ark, giant boulder and all. Do yourself a favor and check it out.
