I can’t believe I’m writing this…

Above is a video that defies belief. Tom Green with Jurassic Five, freestyle rapping. To be honest, I wasn’t aware he did a damn thing since Freddie Got Fingered. A movie I’ve never seen, and don’t plan to. So, I guess he’s got a show in LA, and has for a while now. In this clip, he freestyles with the guys from J5, one of the greatest rap acts ever. And…again, I can’t believe I’m saying this…he actually holds his own. No, more than that. He steals the fucking show. If I heard him and didn’t know it was him, I’d think it was an actual rap act. He’s that good. And now, my friends, I’ve seen everything.

  1. I am blown away. I’m not sure if it’s truly freestyled off the top of his head, but no matter what he’s got crazy flow. That’s amazing. What will Canada bring to us next?!

  2. It’s got to be off the top of his head. Otherwise, he just happened to have a 10+ minute rap ready. Seriously, he raps more than all the members of J5 combined, and the video’s 25+ minutes.

My hat’s off to this dude. But I’m still not planning on watching Freddie Got Fingered.

  3. Word homeboy, I see your point. I take it from the standpoint of myself; I can’t do it so a white Canadian must have prepared it beforehand…
    Maybe he’s a diligent preparer… ;)

That was pretty cool! Still, I’ve watched his new show a couple of times and it’s pretty lame. The only ‘funny’ part is when kids prank call him. It’s a shame too cause the Tom Green Show was probably one of the funniest shows on tv ever.

  5. Yeah, the MTV show was funny. Everything he’s done since (with the exception of this freestyle) has been utter crap.

I’m not abig rap music fan but he seemed to do pretty well. It’s kind of sad people seem to go through “it” comedians, like Tom Green or carrot top. I guess 15 minutes of fame is better than nothing at all- at least if it doesn’t make you crazy.

Well I AM a big rap fan, and he did better than pretty well.

And, as for the 15 minutes thing, I think it’s better not to have it. Look at the folks on Reality TV. After their season is over, they spend the rest of their lives trying to make it as actors, comedians, etc. They get that taste and can’t go back to being normal people.

So, no 15 minutes for me, please.

  8. BTW, I’ve watched this like 4 different times now… It’s strangely appealing.

    I know! It’s nuts, isn’t it?

  10. Totally. I just can’t get enough of the first 10 or so minutes…

  11. Yeh man, he has an online show. I came across is a coupel of years ago. Apparently it is huge and well done. Plus he has some rhyming skills, i think he rhymes for guests that are musicians.

Hey man, thanks for visiting the site. Always nice to see mixxers stop by. Rhyming skills indeed. Who’d have thought, way back when he had his first MTV show, that he’d be able to flow so well?

Here’s a new version. Only half of it, but should be good enough to tide you over. Don’t know why YouTube yanked the other one.

BTW, Charlie Tuna is the shit. Love his voice. You listen to Jurassic Five beyond this video? They are fucking awesome. Not their last album as much, but their previous albums are gold.

You’re the man. Yeah I got into them when they did What’s Golden a while back. That and a song Kali (?) Tuna did with Linkin Park on their Reanimation album. “It’s the verbal Herman Munster”. ;)

I’ll need to check out that Linkin Park track.

Yeah. Fucking great. The band has two DJs, but I’m pretty sure it’s Cut Chemist. Regardless, either one of them (the other guy’s named Nu-Mark) are awesome.
