Last Thursday, John Stewart had a chance to sit down with Jim Cramer of CNBC’s Mad Money. Why? Because John had been ripping CNBC a new one lately and they apparently thought Cramer was the best guy to take the fight to Stewart’s door. Maybe he was. I’m not sure anyone else could have done better. Regardless, he got his ass handed to him. By John Stewart. On a fake news show. Does anyone want to explain to me why the only time I see political pundits and talking heads get seriously grilled is on a comedy show? Enjoy these three clips. I surely did.

As Jon Stewart said – the other networks are also selling snakeoil, but not admitting it. As Hunter S. Thompson said "…So much for Objective Journalism. Don't bother to look for it here — not under any byline of mine; or anyone else I can think of. With the possible exception of things like box scores, race results, and stock market tabulations, there is no such thing as Objective Journalism. The phrase itself is a pompous contradiction in terms."

Shit, even the stock market tabulations aren't objective anymore.

Holy crap that was painful to watch! He laid the smackdown for sure. Ironically enough, it seems like only on the Daily Show do you ever see it get that serious.

Hey, C! Long time, no see. How ya been? And yes, it was painful. I actually felt bad for Cramer once or twice.

hrm, I didn't get an email update for this comment though I subscribed to this thread.
I'm doing well! Just busy with school. I'm trying to work with Brennan on building a new site for the psych society of my school:
http://clubs.csumb.edu/psychology/
It could use some work!

It's a sad day when the best journalism out there right now is being done by a comedy show. What has happened to our 4th branch or government? The press is supposed to be watching out for us, not fucking us in the ass and then running six commentary pundit shows and blog posts about whether it was a good ass-fucking or not.

You make a valid point, but I still enjoy the occasional episode of AssFuckers over on AFNBC
